Biedt de industrie volop kansen Vlaanderen zet in op een innovatieve, marktgerichte chemische- en kunststofindustrie, klaar voor de duurzaamheidsuitdagingen. Hier liggen de opportuniteiten voor de industrie. Innoveren en valoriseren door sectoroverschrijdend samenwerken staan voorop, zegt Jan Van Havenbergh, algemeen directeur van de nieuwe speerpuntcluster organisatie Catalisti. The BioBase4SME project, co-financed by Europe’s Interreg NWE programme, is now providing start-up companies working in the bioeconomy with €7,000 worth of specialist training, fully funded by the project. An intensive, week-long Innovation Biocamp will give these companies the tools they need to commercialise their idea and grow their company. The training culminates in a live pitch to investors. Biosurfactants have the potential to be used in a wide variety of applications. Drivers to use biosurfactants are to increase the biobased content of the end-product, biodegradability, low ecotoxicity, to replace current substances which are to be banned from market, or their beneficial activity in the end application. They are not only known because of their tensio-active function, but also for its anti-microbial activity.
