International Conference on Biobased Surfactants

Flanders Biobased Valley, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant and InBio.be are proud to present the very first International Conference on Biobased Surfactants. This conference will be organized in Ghent, Belgium on 15-16 December 2020. Due to climate change and increasing consumer awareness, the field of biobased surfactants has been developing fast over the past 5 years. Biobased surfactants originate and can be produced through different means. They are used in a variety of products and industries. For this first edition, we invite all researchers who are interested or active in this broad and growing field. Topical developments will be discussed by prominent speakers, from both academic as well as industrial backgrounds. Participants will also visit FLAMAC and Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. Additionally, authors interested in presenting their work during the conference can submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations (deadline 15 September 2020). BIOKET 2021

Biomass is a wonderful resource. It can be transformed into chemicals, biobased materials, food and feed ingredients, or energy. Yet, the adaption and optimisation of transformation processes and technologies to valorise all biomass fractions in a circular approach remains a challenge.

In the context of Industry 4.0, Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) provide the basis for innovation in a range of products across all industrial sectors. They underpin the shift to a greener economy, are instrumental in modernizing the industrial base, and drive the development of entirely new industries. BIOKET aims to contribute to the rise of KETs by promoting emerging KETs applied in the bioeconomy sector.

The first edition of BIOKET gathered +300 key players across the sector. The second edition, BIOKET 2021, promises to once again be an inspiring conference dedicated to processes and technologies applied to biomass. BIOKET 2021 runs online from 1-19 March 2021.

What to expect?

  • breakout sessions, innovation tours and workshops as videos-on-demand
  • digital booths to meet & exchange with exhibitors
  • virtual pre-arranged B2B meetings
  • live plenaries
  • and so much more!
