Brussel, 9 juni 2017 – Catalisti, de speerpuntcluster voor chemie en kunststoffen, heeft vandaag het clusterpact officieel ondertekend samen met Vlaams minister-president Geert Bourgeois, Vlaams minister van Innovatie Philippe Muyters en Vlaams minister van Mobiliteit Ben Weyts. Dit clusterpact legt de concrete engagementen vast van de clusterorganisatie, de bedrijven en kennis-instellingen die er deel van uitmaken en de overheid. Catalisti verenigt bijna honderd bedrijven en alle Vlaamse universiteiten. Ook sectorfederatie essenscia vlaanderen, VITO (Vlaamse Instelling Voor Technologisch Onderzoek), het onderzoekscentrum voor de textielindustrie Centexbel en Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, de pilootfaciliteit voor de bio-gebaseerde industrie, maken deel uit van

Eind vorige week werd via het EFRO E-loket een nieuwe projectoproep ten bedrage van 10 miljoen Euro opengesteld. Deze oproep richt zich op projecten die zorgen voor de ondersteuning en verspreiding van technologieën met het oog op kennisvalorisatie en vermarkting. De projecten dienen aan te sluiten op het Vlaamse clusterbeleid, waarin een structurele samenwerking wordt nagestreefd tussen ondernemingen en kennisinstellingen. Om haar positie als dynamische kennisregio te versterken, moet Vlaanderen de valorisatie van technologische en niet-technologische kennis voortdurend optimaliseren. InOpSys has been selected as one of the finalists in the area of "Waste water-free chemical sites" for ‘Imagine Chemistry’ of AkzoNobel. This is a global challenge, initiated by AkzoNobel, for start-ups who all hold great potential to address customer needs and contribute to a safer, more sustainable world. The winning idea will be turned into a commercial reality with real global impact. Dit initiatief richt zich tot kmo?’s en biedt hen een gericht instrument aan om een gezamenlijk ontwikkelingsproject uit te werken tussen bedrijven uit de verschillende Belgische Gewesten Vlaanderen, Wallonië en Brussel. De derde oproep staat open voor alle disciplines. Het projectconsortium bestaat ten minste uit 2 kmo’s van 2 verschillende Belgische regio’s en de duurtijd van een project ligt tussen 12 en 24 maanden. Specifieke documenten zijn voorzien, die door het consortium gezamenlijk worden ingediend. Catalysts are involved in more than 95% of the production of chemicals, fuels, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods. They often consist of toxic elements that are difficult to remove from the final end product and usually get destroyed during that process. A solution to this is to “capture” such catalysts in cage like materials that hold the catalyst without decreasing it’s activity. Afterwards, the “catalyst in the cage”, comparable to a “ship in a bottle” can be easily be separated and reused time and time again. Biedt de industrie volop kansen Vlaanderen zet in op een innovatieve, marktgerichte chemische- en kunststofindustrie, klaar voor de duurzaamheidsuitdagingen.
