SusChem Stakeholders Event 2019

“Sustainable Chemistry to solve global challenges, the new SusChem Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda”: that’s the theme of this year’s SusChem Stakeholders Event on 27 November 2019. During the event, the new SusChem SIRA will be launched, reflecting the strategy and role of sustainable chemistry and industrial biotech in boosting innovation in Europe.
As part of its new SIRA, SusChem has responded to global challenges for a sustainable future, recommending technology priorities that can become solutions. Throughout the day, participants will discuss global and societal challenges, and the SusChem SIRA-relevant priorities, including the digital transformation of the chemical and industrial biotech sectors, the prospects and challenges of circular economy and the energy transition across value chains, and the role of innovation at national and European level.
The event brings together players along the different value chains, embracing interdisciplinarity across the full innovation ecosystem (large industry, startups, SMEs, universities and RTOs as well as the civil society and other organizations. The objective is to address common innovation challenges and debate priorities crucial to the sustainability of the European chemical sector.
