Oleon in Oelegem wins prestigious ‘Factory of the Future’ award. Chemical company Oleon in Oelegem received the prestigious quality label of 'Factory of the Future' from the hands of Flemish minister-president Jan Jambon. The award honors the most advanced and future-oriented production companies in our country.
Oleon Oelegem is an innovative plant that is pioneering sustainability and collaboration. Just last year they inaugurated a new installation for enzymatic esterification. The technology for this was developed in collaboration with partner companies and knowledge institutions, including within the Catalisti project Lipametics. This makes us particularly proud. This allows carbon emissions from production to drop over 40% and waste production to be reduced by 60%, an impressive result.
